Lecce – Napoli Preview

Lecce faces Napoli at the Stadio Via del Mare in a match from the 35th round of the Serie A. This is an important game in the title race. Let’s preview it in our best soccer predictions daily.

Napoli are moving closer to winning the Serie A for a 4th time in their history. Thanks to Inter Milan’s two consecutive defeats, Antonio Conte’s team is now three points clear ahead of the Nerazzurri. A win in Lecce is a must in order to keep this distance at least.

Last weekend Napoli achieved another important win. They hosted Torino at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona and got the three points after a 2-0 scoreline. Scott McTominay scored both goals for the hosts. The Scottish midfielder now has 11 league goals since the beginning of the season. He turned out to be a pretty amazing transfer for the Italian club.

We don’t expect huge surprises in Napoli’s line-up against Lecce. What could Conte do is eventually bring back Raspadori or Simeone back in the starting eleven. Both of them played as substitutes against Torino last week.

Lecce are desperate for points here. They are 17th in the standings, but just two points ahead of the 18th Venezia. Theoretically, a defeat against Napoli could send Lecce back in the relegation zone. And surely they don’t want it.

Last weekend Lecce surprisingly won a point during the visit to Atalanta in Bergamo – 1-1. Jesper Karlsson scored Lecce’s only goal in the game from a penalty kick. It was his first goal in the Calcio for the season.

That’s the best soccer predictions daily for the Serie A clash between Lecce and Napoli at the Via del Mare. Can Napoli make another step towards the Scudetto? Or maybe Lecce will help Inter in the title race? Let’s wait and see.
